Attractions In Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers so much to see in a relatively small space which makes hotel location of particular importance. Choose the right base in this amazing place and it can make the whole trip so much more pleasant than potentially having to travel across the city all the time.

walled city park pictureOne of the many fascinating sights in Hong Kong is the Kowloon Walled City Park, one of the most historic places in the territory. It was first used in the 15th century, being fortified though only in the 17th century. It has now been renovated and a park created within it, in which can be found many original artefacts, bringing to life the history of the place.

Ching Ming Festival pictureThere are many festivals in Hong Kong, reflecting the religious and spiritual culture here. One example is the Ching Ming Festival, taking place each Spring and known as the grave sweeping day. It is tradition for all members of a Chinese family to visit the graves of their ancestors, clear away the leaves and tidy up the area. There is also an offering of paper that is burned there, usually using pretend money.

nightlife pictureHong Kong is a fantastic city for nightlife, from restaurants and bars through to entertainment complexes and nightclubs, Hong Kong has it all.

In contrast to China, Hong Kong has a relatively unrestricted night life, one that is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. A particularly popular area is Lan Kwai Fong, where there are many restaurants bars and clubs. It is a square of streets primarily that has developed over time to become such a magnet for visitors. It is certainly an experience, always busy, with standing room only a lot of the time, but greatly enjoyable. There are many hotels in the area so staying near to the action shouldn't be a problem.
