About Hong Kong

Hong Kong is actually two separate elements. The first is Hong Kong Island whilst the second is Kowloon and the New Territories. Hong Kong has the status of a Special Administrative Region of the Peoples Republic of China, What this means is that it operates a lot of its own policies – financial and economic, legal structure, immigration, and so on, although with regard to defence and diplomatic relations it has to follow the overriding policy of China.

Hong Kong Island is well known as an image before anything else, with towering skyscrapers filling the landscape, standing side by side as they reach high into the sky. This image typifies the economic strength of Hong Kong, which is a major world banking centre and trading nation.

To visit Hong Kong is to savour an experience that will not be forgotten. With so much to see and do, and in such a compact area it is a rush for all the senses. Enjoy the fantastic food in local restaurants, take in a bar later on and then enjoy the luxury of the many hotels in the area.

Before doing that of course the first thing to look at are flights to Hong Kong, because it is impossible to enjoy the city without getting there first! Cheap flights to Hong Kong are shown with many of the major airlines on the flight search page, along with a search facility that provides access to fares to suit specific dates.
